In my essay, I plan to use Linguistic, Visual and Audio communication. I hope to achieve that by using images, and a short video in my essay. My goal in my essay is to hopefully prove that prove that beauty is a stepping stone to a new view on the world, similar to the mindfulness advocated by East Asian philosophers. Throughout my paper, I will include images when necessary, to evoke more emotion from the reader, similar to how newspaper articles use pictures. These would likely include images of beautiful things for the reader to appreciate, and reflect on. I will also use Audio in the form of a video of me hiking through northern New Hampshire, taking pictures. The video will also connect the reader more closely to me and my experiences, because it was shot in a first person view.
ESSAY OUTLINE
Art Helps us Appreciate Nature: I will bring up my own art project, and discuss the implications of it. I will make sure to talk about the unhealthy fixation that society has on money and items. I hope to showcase non-material things in a more positive light.
Beauty Makes Us Aspire: When we have something beautiful to look up to-a work of art, a model, an athlete, a sculpture or painting, we instinctively try to emulate it, for better or worse. I will discuss the implications, and compare the benefits and drawbacks of this behavior.
Beauty lets us connect with our inner child: Playing with art and creativity allows us to remember a simpler time in our lives. I will contrast an adult view of art, with a child’s view of art.
